Our COVID-19 Response

A Family Dental Care Center has resumed our regular appointment hours in both Norristown and Conshohocken. We will continue to follow the infection control recommendations made by the ADA, CDC, and OSHA to maintain the safety of patients and staff. You can view A Family Dental Care Center’s COVID-19 below so you know what to expect when arriving at our office. Please call us if you have any questions.

Our office has always followed infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).  We follow the activities of these agencies to ensure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agency’s recommendations.

Our standard sanitation protocols have always included sterilization and disinfection of all treatment rooms, equipment, and instruments between each and every patient. In addition to the high standards we have always followed, you will now see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff.

  1. PATIENT ARRIVAL (Optional): Before your appointment you will stay in your car instead of the waiting room until we are ready to seat you. Only the patient may enter the practice (exceptions include children and the handicapped). You may then call our office and we will inform you when we are prepared for your entry.
  2. COVID SCREENING: We require a COVID screening form to be completed before your appointment. Your appointment reminder text message will have a link for our COVID-19 screening. Please click the link and fill out the form prior to your visit. In-office forms will also be available if needed.
  3. TEMPERATURE GUIDELINES: Designated office staff will take your temperature. Patients with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or less will be escorted to their designated operatory. We will ask you to reschedule if your temperature is above 100.4.
  4. WASH YOUR HANDS: We kindly request that patients wash their hands or apply hand sanitizer prior to being taken back to the operatory.
  5. STAFF & PATIENT PPE: Our staff will be wearing the proper PPE that is required for each appointment. We are asking all patients to wear masks when within the office except during your treatment.
  6. SOCIAL DISTANCING: Our waiting room reflects the 6-foot spacing recommended to reduce the transmission of COVID 19. Our waiting room will not be offering magazines, children’s toys, books, etc. since those items prove difficult to clean/disinfect. You will see sneeze guards at the front desk to reduce transmission.
  7. PATIENT CHECKOUT: When your appointment is completed, a staff member will escort you to our checkout area.
  8. ADDITIONAL PRECAUTIONS: We have added HEPA air filtration units with UVB lights in every operatory and all waiting areas to keep the office environment clean of viruses and bacteria. In addition to our normal disinfection protocols in all the treatment rooms, other surfaces such as desks, counters and door handles will also be thoroughly sanitized multiple times throughout the day.

Thank you for being our patient. We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we have taken to keep you and our staff safe while in our practice. Please bear with us as we adjust to these new guidelines. We have the utmost appreciation for your understanding and patience. Stay safe, everyone!
